What Kcalzone is
Kcalzone estimates the calories and macronutrients of meals from photos, descriptions and barcodes, keeps a diary of what you log, and sets general nutrition targets from the profile you enter. It is a tool for keeping track, not a medical device and not a clinician.
Estimates are estimates
Every figure Kcalzone shows is an estimate with a range, and the range is there because the figure can be wrong. Mixed dishes, restaurant food, hidden oil and sauces are estimated worse than simple plates. You can correct any result; we encourage it. Do not rely on a single estimate for anything where the exact number matters.
Not medical advice
The targets Kcalzone sets are general guidance, not medical advice. Talk to a clinician before starting a plan if you are pregnant, managing a health condition, or have a history of disordered eating. If the app ever makes you feel worse about food rather than clearer about it, stop using it; that is not what it is for.
Subscriptions
Kcalzone is free to start. Some features are part of Kcalzone Pro, a subscription sold and managed through Apple's App Store under Apple's terms. Cancelling, refunds and renewals are handled in your Apple ID settings, not by us.
Your content
Your diary, photos and profile are yours. We claim no rights over them. Photos you scan are processed to produce an estimate and then discarded, as the privacy page describes.
Acceptable use
Do not use the service to send content that is unlawful, that belongs to someone else, or that is designed to break or overload it. We may limit or stop service to an install that does.
Availability
The estimation service and the assistant depend on servers we run and on third-party providers. They can be slow or unavailable. The diary, your history and manual logging keep working without them.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Kcalzone is provided as is, and we are not liable for decisions made on the basis of its estimates. Nothing here limits rights that consumer law gives you and that cannot be waived.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Italy. Disputes go to the courts of the place where the author is resident, except where consumer law gives you the right to your own.
